Thanksgiving 2018 Staff Picks

HOLIDAY HOURS - THANKSGIVING - 11/22/18 - 10am to 2pm

We love any excuse to gather around a table to eat and crack special bottles. Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays for this very reason! Whether you spend the day with the family you're born into and/or the family you choose, we hope you have a joyous celebration. Here are a few things we're especially thankful for this year:

2015 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon - $99.99

"My favorite thing about Corison Cabs is not only that they are beautifully restrained, farmed organically, and a far opposite from some of the syrupy, extracted Cabs made just a few feet apart from Corison on Hwy 29. But mainly it's Cathy Corison, their founder and winemaker. She put female winemaking on the map in the Napa Valley. What traditionally was (and still is) the good 'ol boys club, Cathy blazed a trail to become one of the most highly regarded winemakers in all of California. And, we've got it in the shop. Come by to get your bottle for Thanksgiving." - Lauren Barnard, Partner

Chateau de Briat Hor's d'Age - $71.99

"I'm looking forward to sipping Brandy and smoking cigars after the big meal. This Chateau de Briat Bas-Armagnac is exactly what I have in mind, with its bold flavors of raisin and nougat, it is the perfect accompaniment to pumpkin pie." - Kyle Nadeau, Partner

Lillet Blanc - $22.99
"Start off with Lillet Blanc to get my palate in sync. With the first course, I'll open a bottle of 2012 Philippe Colin St. Aubin Le Charmois White Burgundy, second course a bottle of 2016 Ruet Chiroubles Gamay, third course a bottle of 2015 Camus-Bruchon Bourgogne pinot noir. For dessert, either a Roger Groult 12 yr old Calvados or Chateau de Briat bas-Armagnac." - Keith Bevan, Spirit Guide, and the person you most want to invite you to their Thanksgiving dinner
Crooked Stave Serenata Notturna with Blueberry - $20.99
"This Belgian style golden sour has a fairly high abv (10%) for a mixed fermentation ale, in case you need extra help managing to spend time with your family. It also has the acidity to pair well with whatever you'd normally throw cranberry on during your Thanksgiving dinner." - Scott Jeffery, Beer Nerd
2013 Thomas Fogarty Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir - $34.99
"Such a pretty, bright Pinot Noir with tons of snappy red fruit, subtle earthy richness, and a mouthwatering finish. Perfect to cut through all the layers of richness thrown at you on Thanksgiving!' - Bryan Brick, Wine Guru
